This is the story of a very loved little girl whose life was turned upside down by being taken to a Doctor for a second opinion. This is the story of the fight against CPS and being guilty until proven innocent. This is a story of hope, love and the perserverance of parents who will never give up...no matter what the odds. This is the story of Osteogenesis Imperfecta.

Sometimes All You Need Is...
I know I haven't written lately. I honestly don't have a great reason, I just feel kind of "eeyore" and don't want to bring that negativity everywhere I go.
Avery is doing great! She got her first silver nitrate treatment for granulation tissue on Friday. It is working perfectly and helping so much! Her new button is much, much, much nicer than that nasty catheter!
A is up to 13lb 2oz now!!! On October 31st, she was 10lb 4oz. So she has gained about three pounds in two months. Her Doctor is happy with her weight gain and so am I!
Avery will turn 8 months old in just a few days. She still isn't sitting up, rolling from back to belly, babbling or "talking", drinking from a bottle or eating baby food like an average baby. However, she is smiling, playing and tube feeding excellently.
She eats about a jar of baby food a day and takes in approximately 24oz of Elecare at 24cal per ounce, daily. She is also starting to learn to drink thickened juices from her sippy cups. She's doing it, slowly but surely. There still is no end in sight for our time with tube, but at least we are making progress!!
Everything else really is going OK. Life is back to normal. Well, as normal as this life can be right now. As soon as we can we are transferring out of this place.
Also, if you or someone you know is a"tubie" or special needs family, please like www.Facebook.com/StarrLightTubies - as you can imagine the bills for Averys healthcare and the cost this investigation has put on our family is immense. In order to help "give back" I have created this page with friends to sell special needs products. We make insulated feeding bag covers in awesome prints, medi-port covers, tube pads, insulated syringe/medicine rolls and more. Right now we have a very special product custom order for a wheelchair pad that is absorbent, washable, water resistant against the bottom of and best of all - doesn't look like a medical supply.
In the world of tubes, wires, chairs, syringes, doctors, specialists, hospitals and more....sometimes all you need is a little "light".
I hope everyone is doing great. I can't tell you how much I appreciate the kind words, comments and love from you all. Avery and I thank you, from the depths of our hearts!

While we understand that not everyone is a believer in the innocence of a parent accused of child abuse, we would ask that you keep your comments respectful.
